A stay at an adult weight loss camp, however, can be helpful in creating healthy lifestyle behaviors that promote healthy weights.
Green Mountain's unique understanding of young and adult women's issues around food, eating, and body acceptance/image is the result of 35 years of working with women like you. The non-diet philosophy of our small-sized program -- where the emphasis is on helping each woman successfully attain a healthy weight, feel good about herself and have fun in the process -- remains the same as it was conceived over 35 years ago, only modified to meet the changing needs and realities of today's busy woman.
The Green Mountain Retreat
The best way to experience the life-changing power of our healthy eating, non-diet weight loss program and fitness program is to spend time with us in our serene, lodge-like retreat on 26 wooded acres in the heart of Vermont's Green Mountains.


Camp Philosophy:

The emphasis here is on informal living rather than pampering, although massage and other amenities are available. In this way, we can offer a more personalized experience that facilitates the development and planning of effective strategies for long-term success.
Here, at Green Mountain, our healthy weight loss program teaches you about normal, healthy eating - not about calories and diets to lose weight.
We help you achieve permanent healthy weight loss through strategies that you can take home with you.
We not only help you change your eating habits, but the way you think about yourself and food.

Camp Accommodations:

Green Mountain operates out of a former ski and corporate retreat on a hill overlooking Okemo Mountain and the Okemo Valley Golf Course, premier winter and summer resort areas in Vermont. Set on 26 wooded acres, the lodge is a low key, relaxing retreat with informal classrooms, well-equipped physical activity rooms, a spacious dining room, and a comfortable living room. A cozy den doubles as an intimate setting for seminars and support groups during the day as well as an extra TV room at night. The feeling is one of relaxed camaraderie. Up to 35-40 women can be accommodated in single, double and triple rooms. Spacious and comfortable, the triples feature two-tiered sleeping lofts.
In summer, participants enjoy the clay tennis courts and Olympic-sized swimming pool as well as the adjacent golf course. In winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing take place in the surrounding woods; aquacize classes are held at a nearby resort with an indoor pool. Overall, its an atmosphere in which women of all ages from a variety of places bond through shared activities and quiet conversations - where evenings are spent chatting and playing games around the woodstove, attending fun and informative cooking classes, relaxing with yoga or a massage, or taking it easy in the living room or den watching a good TV show or video.

Program Length:

The weight loss programs are 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks in length.
